Other Work (Miscellaneous)
A collection of miscellaneous works that weren’t part of a project. It’s typically stuff that I’ve worked on in my own free time.
Maya
Maya is my main tool of choice when it comes to anything CG and it’s the software that I’m most familiar with. Here is a few snippets of work I’ve done outside of my projects.
Switch Model
Low Poly Tree with Colour Ramp
Rigid Body
Cube Shatter
Wine Glass
Two Basic Walk Cycles
ZBrush
ZBrush is a software I recently learned to use through a workshop at my University. Here are a couple of the sculpts that came out of the workshop and the time I had to play with the software.
Dinosaur sculpted to reference as part of a ZBrush workshop
Long Face Sculpt
Round Face Sculpt
Alien Head Sculpt
Substance Painter
I tend to use Substance Painter over Maya’s Hypershade as I can make more complex textures. The Vespa model is not mine, it’s just a model we were given to practice on.
Vespa I textured for a workshop
Testing out different lighting with HDRIs
Darker HDRI
After Effects
I’ve been using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite for a while now (I used to make weird edits with Photoshop on the school computers), and eventually I started using the suite as one of my main tools for most of my creative work. Here are a few pieces I’ve made using Adobe After Effects.
Motion Graphic I made for a showreel
Motion Graphic I made for a Podcast project with my friends (You don’t need to watch the full 59 minutes, it’s just a looped glitch and flip effect)
Glowing Eyes effect
A motion graphic for made for my showreels. I ended up replacing it to fit my website better
Blender
Most of my experience with Blender is through Blender Guru’s tutorials. Blender is a program that I want to take the time to learn after University since it’s becoming such a powerful free tool. Hopefully I can learn enough to collaborate with my friends that use Blender.
Glass Mug and Saucer (Blender)
Donut made from Blender Guru tutorial (Blender)
Blender Donut render
Photography
I also have a photography portfolio from when I was studying GCSE Photography: Owen Lye Portfolio. It’s a bit of a long read and a tad bit weird, but go check it out if you have the time.
